Reflections

From time to time people choose to share a few words about their experience of counselling with me.

“I told my mum working with Suzy felt like breathing.”

- Adam

Therapy is a deeply relational processes. What unfolds in the work belongs primarily to the person who brings their life, questions and experience into the room. For that reason, I share these reflections with care and gratitude. They represent individual experiences rather than promises about what therapy will be like for everyone.

Words shared with people reflecting on their own experience of counselling with me:

Working with Suzy was a life-changing experience. From the beginning, I felt listened to without judgment and given the space to explore my thoughts at my own pace.

Suzy's person-centred approach made a real difference—she didn’t try to direct or fix me, but instead helped me understand myself more clearly and build my own sense of confidence and self-acceptance.

I felt truly understood from the first session, which helped me enormously in terms of recognising and questioning my negative thought patterns and self-talk. Her insights have had an enormous impact on my self-esteem and I now have a sense of peace that I've never had before.”

- Sophie

“I worked with Suzy over a significant period of time and was quickly impressed with her empathic engagement style. Always displaying positive regard whilst able to challenge without threat or judgement.

She was creative and flexible when I was stuck and willing to give some of herself if and when appropriate. A lovely warm humanistic person with an honesty and care that I needed. Thank you!”

- Mac

“Working with Suzy helped me develop confidence, self-understanding and compassion towards the most vulnerable parts of myself.

I no longer see myself as broken or unworthy, and I feel I am a better person because of the work we did together.”

— G

“Working with Suzy has helped me regulate my emotions and make sense of what is happening inside me. When everything feels overwhelming and stuck in my head, being able to talk things through helps me see things more clearly.

Our sessions have helped me face my anxiety, take better care of myself, and develop a greater understanding of my experiences. I feel more able to accept myself as I am.”

— Rez

“I would like to say a big thank you to Suzy for everything she has helped me with over the last few years. She helped me understand that what happened in my life was not my fault, and that has given me my life back.”

— TJ

“Working with Suzy hasn’t always been easy, and there were times when I struggled to talk about how I was feeling. But she stayed with me through it all with patience, care and sensitivity.

Perhaps the most important thing Suzy helped me recover was something I thought I had lost years ago, my voice.”

— Lucianna

“When I first came to see Suzy I was struggling with severe depression and anxiety.

Our weekly sessions have genuinely changed my life. Suzy always allowed me to go at my own pace and never pushed me further than I was ready to go.”

— Alicia
